General Visitor Visa

If you are non- visa national , you do not need to apply for a Standared Visitor Visa before you travel. You can show your travel document to the Immigration Officer at the  UK Air port  and have the visa stamped to your passport which will be valid for 06 months.

However, if you are from a visa national country then you have to apply for visa as a visit as a tourist, visit on business, visit on study or visit for medical reasons prior to your travel to the UK. You can apply to stay in the UK up to 06 months.

We got above the result we were expecting – so I would recommend! My wife had missed the visa application deadline for ILR due to being a busy mum and missing the sneaky government rule change on English tests and 30 day grace period. We were advised by one lawyer to go down the Human rights route – given the current government climate on immigration. Ravi advised to try ILR anyway. He put forward an expert application based on the Mum and Child needing to be together. It was a long wait – as no doubt it was put in the ‘difficult box’ by the UKBA but all good in the end.
